Heartmath Biofeedback

Learn to listen to your body's cues so that you can improve your emotional regulation, better manage stress, and improve your overall health. By understanding how to shift your heart rate variability and calm your nervous system, you can build your resiliency and improve your physical and mental health.

What is biofeedback and heart rate variability?

Biofeedback is a mind-body technique that helps you to see the physiological changes that are occurring moment to moment in your body. Our heart rate, muscular tension and breathing patterns can impact our nervous system without us realizing it. Biofeedback gives you immediate and direct feedback so that you can learn to manipulate your heart rate and nervous system for improved health and wellbeing.

The Heartmath biofeedback device is a teaching tool that will empower you to take control of your life. When our heart is in an incoherent state, our lives might feel chaotic and out of control. By changing the rhythm of our heart we can improve our mood, reduce stress, manage pain, connect with others, and better process our emotions.

How does Heartmath work?

The Heartmath Biofeedback tool has a sensor that is attached to the ear lobe and provides information to a software system on a computer. The client and clinician can see the heart rate variability and can record progress at each session. The software has several games that can be utilized as well, to keep kids, adolescents, and adults engaged while they practice deep breathing, guided visualization and meditation. Nicole Lovald is a certified trauma-sensitive Heartmath practitioner.
